241 Opticians Terms and Conditions of Purchase and Supply

Please note that these terms and conditions do not affect your statutory consumer rights.

1. THE MOST IMPORTANT TERM:

Your sight is very important and there are circumstances where you should not buy prescription glasses online:

Under 16.

If you are under 16 you should only be dispensed with glasses under the direct supervision of a Registered Optician.

If your prescription is over 2 years old (1 year for over 70's) or your Optometrist has recommended an earlier sight test then you must have another sight test in order to have an up to date prescription before ordering.

3. SUPPLY OF GOODS

You can make an order via our website. We will always try our best to ensure that all orders are fulfilled. However occasionally items might be out of stock or exceptionally might have been recently discontinued. In this case we will contact you.

Although you will receive a confirmation email that your order has arrived, orders for prescription glasses are only accepted by us once they have been fully reviewed and authorised by a Registered Optician.

We may need to contact you to discuss any concerns that we might have about your prescription. We may offer advice over the telephone or by email.

4. DELIVERY

We will work on your order as soon as it is received. To give you an idea of delivery times please see below:

Frames and single vision lenses in our immediate stock are usually dispatched in 1-3 days.

Bifocal and non stock lenses are usually dispatched within a week but can take up to 14 days.

Varifocals take longer because we need to post the frame to you first for measurement. Sometimes we will send the frame in a different colour to speed up the process if we have to order your frame in.

We work very hard to maintain sufficient frame stocks and always try to stock the most popular frames. However, very often with the number of variations of colours and sizes of designer glasses we will need to order them in from the suppliers, usually from Italy. This can be 7-14 working days. Some suppliers will be slightly quicker and this will be stated on your confirmation email.

We will always get in touch by telephone or email if your order is not going to be within the timescale quoted in your confirmation email.

For Canadian orders, that is orders being delivered to an address in Canada and paid for in CAD, import taxes and duties are included in our prices.

5. PRIVACY POLICY

We collect data for the purpose of processing orders, contacting customers, and collecting feedback. As such, we will sometimes need to pass on data to third party data processors, for example passing your delivery address to our courier. We will only ever pass on the data that is necessary and only to third parties who adhere to appropriate data privacy practices.

We will never rent or sell your personal data to others.

7. GUARANTEE/REFUNDS

100% Guarantee

We realise that buying glasses online is more difficult than buying them on the High St. Your glasses are being delivered rather than dispensed and fitted by an Optician. For this reason we offer a 100% guarantee on our frames. You can return your frames for any reason whatsoever within 14 days for a refund. Any damage to the frames, such as scratches, should be reported within 7 days. If you should decide to keep the glasses then they will be covered by the manufacturer's warranty. This will be a minimum of 12 months but if something goes wrong outside this period we will work with you to try to reach an amicable solution.

You must return the glasses or sunglasses unworn in their original condition with all accessories within 14 days of receipt. You are responsible for return costs. If returning from outside the UK they must be clearly marked as "returned goods" and the "returned goods" box ticked to avoid import taxes.

Refunds Policy

Sunglasses and "Frame only" prescription glasses – full refund

Prescription glasses including lenses - full refund, unless we tell you in advance that the lenses are special order and non-refundable.

Special order lenses: We won't proceed with the order without letting you know if your lenses are special order. In some circumstances we will replace the prescription free of charge even if you have made an error or if there is an error on your original prescription.
